The new International Convention Centre Sydney (ICC Sydney) is already proving to be a huge success, securing 1000 events just 10 months after opening its doors and is on track to inject $5 billion into the NSW economy over the next 25 years. The $1.5 billion venue has quickly become the most desirable business meeting location and exhibition space in the country.

As an exhibitor you are probably visiting the new ICC venue for the first time, so here’s a bit of info for you;

The new building features a striking contemporary design, offering leading technology and multipurpose spaces. It is promoting itself as “A beacon of innovation, learning and entertainment, connecting and celebrating leaders of invention, business, governance and the arts.” It is already setting new event attendance records with clients citing Australia’s premier convention, exhibition and entertainment venue as key to delivering unprecedented visitor numbers.

ICC Sydney employs 1,800 people. It has had 300 full time staff and 1,500 casual staff on its books since opening in December 2016. It boasts a total exhibition capacity of 35,000 sqm, including 2,400 sqm of multipurpose space plus convention facilities capable of holding 3 concurrent events. There is also an external event deck of 5000sqm which offers spectacular views of Sydney City and Darling Harbour where the venue is situated.

Darling Harbour is a draw card in itself for visitors to events at the ICC. The waterfront location only a 10 minute walk from the CBD city centre is spectacular. Recently, the whole public domain area has had a facelift with new shops, restaurants and entertainment areas all receiving modern upgrades.

You certainly won’t be lost for something to do in your downtime. If you’re coming from interstate we strongly advise you take some time out of your busy exhibiting schedule to take a bit of a look around. Relax in the Chinese Garden or go for an evening harbour cruise. Visit the 9D cinema or have a go at 10 pin bowling. Check out the Australia Maritime Museum or Sea Life Sydney Aquarium ….or just stop for a cocktail and a bite to eat at one of the many restaurants, alfresco cafes and trendy bars along the waterfront at Cockle Bay, King Street Wharf and Harbourside.

Some advantages of the new ICC for Exhibitors:

  • Wireless connectivity across the entire precinct
